Ella Cohen is originally from Modiin, Israel. Her journey in education began with her passion for Hebrew, which she pursued as a Hebrew specialist at Kings Bay Y during her first summer camp experience. She also served as a Hebrew teacher in the Israeli army. Her involvement in the Maccabi Youth Movement started at age 12, and by 15, she became a counselor, furthering her commitment to guiding and inspiring youth.
