Preschool Summer Camp FAQs
Preschool Summer Day Camp FAQ
The KBY Preschool Day Camp serves to provide a friendly, warm and secure atmosphere designed to meet the needs of each child and foster individual growth and creativity within a group setting.
What ages are accepted to the Preschool Day Camp?
The preschool day camp accepts children who have turned 2 by the start of the program through age 6.
How are the groups arranged and what is the staffing?
We have a ratio in the summer of no less than 1 adult for every 5 children for the older campers.
Do the children go swimming?
All of the children enjoy sprinklers and water play in the yard twice a day.
Are meals included?
The children receive a light breakfast, hot lunch, and snacks. Lunch is delivered daily from our caterer and follows all Glatt Kosher dietary laws. We participate in the Child and Adult Care Food Program, sponsored by the USDA and administered by the NYS Dept of Health. Our meals are in full compliance with USDA nutritional standards.
What activities does the camp offer?
Kings Bay Y inspires development through hands-on projects, outdoor activities, and themed events, while balancing individual needs and interests. The staff uses a creative curriculum to enhance the children’s experience and to encourage their creativity and social growth. Older preschoolers are continuing to develop and practice their skills through pre-reading and pre-math enriched programs. Children enjoy arts & crafts, music & dance, water play, toys and games, literature, movement activities and our beautiful play yard.
Are there any trips?
In the interest of the safety of the children, the preschool day camp does not take the children on any off-premises trips.
What does my child need to bring to camp?
The children need the following every day (rain or shine): two bathing suits (wear one and bring one), two towels, water shoes (no thongs or flip flops), underwear, sweatshirt, change of clothing, hat, sunscreen. Those children who are not toilet-trained will also need diapers and wipes. All of the children need a small blanket and sheet for rest time.
What are the payment arrangements?
A deposit of $200 is required upon registration. The balance is due by June 1st. All fees must be paid in full prior to the start of the program.
How do I register for camp?
