Membership

Membership at the Kings Bay Y entitles everyone to participate in a variety of cultural, educational, and recreational programs. Membership includes full use of the Kings Bay Y's improved health and fitness facilities, including the 25 yard indoor pool, gymnasium, sauna and steam room, and well-equipped exercise rooms. Members receive priority registration and reduced fees for all other programs. Programs such as nursery school, day camp, after school services, courses, athletic classes, and concerts involve additional fees. Annual membership fees are payable at time of enrollment. In cases of financial difficulty, scholarships may be arranged confidentially. There are no refunds for membership and membership is not transferable.

MEMBERSHIP RENEWALS
Memberships which are renewed within a two-month period of the due date will revert back to and expire twelve months from the original due date. Memberships renewed more than two months after the original due date will begin the membership year as of the date of renewal.

MEMBERSHIP CARDS
Each member over the age of ten receives a nontransferable membership card at no cost upon joining the Y. This card must be carried whenever you are in the center. Those not carrying a membership card may be denied admission. If you lost your membership card, a replacement card is available at a $5 charge.

BUILDING TOUR
Prospective members are welcome to take escorted tours of the Kings Bay Y facility. Please come to the front office to arrange a tour.

GUEST POLICY
All members are welcome to brings friends and family as their guests. Those who would like to purchase a guest pass must have a photo ID with them. A standard guest fee of $15 for adults (18 and over) and $10 for children applies.

PARKING
The Kings Bay Y parking lot is located on the north side of the building, on Nostrand Avenue near Avenue U. Parking permits for the lot are issued to members in good standing at the front desk of the Y. All cars must be out of the parking lot when the building is closed. Kings Bay Y is not responsible for any damages that may occur while the vehicle is parked. Please note that the parking lot does not include the sidewalk area beyond the fence, and that cars parked on the sidewalk are liable for ticketing by the NYC Police Department.

KASHRUT POLICY
The Kings Bay Y maintains Jewish dietary laws and we request the cooperation of all those who use the facilities. All food brought into the building must be kosher and dairy.

PERSONAL PROPERTY
Kings Bay Y is not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen property.

REFUND POLICY
All classes are appropriately limited in size to provide maximum benefit to participants. If a class is cancelled by the Kings Bay Y before classes begin, participants will receive a refund in full. If a class is cancelled after the first class, participants will receive a pro-rated refund. If a registrant withdraws prior to the first class, a $10 administrative fee will be charged. If a registrant withdraws after the first class, a prorated refund will be given and a$10 admininistrative fee will be charged. There is no refund after the second class. Also, no refunds are given on tickets purchased for any concert, play, or special event.
Please note: Administration reserves the right to make any necessary changes to the schedule.

LOSS OF PRIVELEGES
The Kings Bay Y expects members and guests to behave in an appropriate manner. The Kings Bay Y reserves the right to cancel membership and/or terminate program participation without refund for any reason including, but not limited to damage or destruction of Kings Bay Y property, theft, failure to follow proper safety precautions and practices, inappropriate behavior and fighting, harassment of other participants, members or staff, physical of verbal abuse, or use of profanity, failure to pay membership fees, failure to follow policies set by the Kings Bay Y. Bicycles and rollerblades are not permitted in the building or to be left on the ramp. The bicycle rack is available for your use. The Kings BayY is not responsible fo rdamage to or theft of bicycles. Smoking is prohibited in the building.
